Bin mixer Introduction

FZH series Bin blender can automatically complete lifting, clamping, mixing and descending tasks and can be matched with different specification pharma bins to satisify large batch and various mixing. Bin mixer are mixers for which the mixing driving force is achieved by rotating the whole bin, with mixing by free-fall within the rotating shell and without agitators (with some exceptions). Free fall mixers are very widespread in process industries for bulk solids dry Mixing (It gathers V mixers, Sqaure cone mixer, drum blenders).

Although other Mixers designs exist which are over-performing tumblers in some aspects, it remains a very simple solution for small operations or to perform a preblend for example.

The mixer performance, i.e. time to reach a desired homogeneity, is a function of the following operating parameters.

The working capacity of bin blenders is 50-60% of mixer total volume. The filling rate is absolutely critical for free fall mixers. The bulk solids need indeed space to move during the rotation to promote the mixing. If the mixer is too full, bad CV and / or long mixing times are to be expected.

Mixer access is normally quite easy for rotating mixers. Indeed, as there is no agitator inside the mixer, inspection and cleaning between batches is relatively easy.

Core Components of a Bin Blender

It is important to note that a bin blending system is not one homogeneous unit. Instead, it comprises of different components. These components work in unison to achieve a particular goal. Let’s break down the main components of a bin powder blending system.

1. Blending Container

This is the main component where the actual blending takes place. Mixing containers come in different designs and specifications. Each design and specification of the blending container should allow the maximum output of the blended material.


2. Materials charging and discharging ports
