This type of dryer machine is referred to as a static fluid bed because the dryer remains stationary during operation. The static system provides an effective method of drying relatively free flowing particles with a reasonable narrow particles size distribution. The feed may take the form of powders, granules, crystals, seed, pre-forms and agglomerates. A static fluidized bed dryer can be batch operation. Because there is no mechanical drive system to move the product, the static dryers are lighter and simpler to manufacture – and hence cheaper than the dynamic fluid-bed dryers.Units in continuous and batch type for more uniform materials that do not tend to agglomerate.

Because the FG series boiling dryer is a vertical static dryer, the equipment occupies a small area, so it is very suitable for clean workshops.

Fluidized bed drying machine is the optimal method for controlled, gentle and even drying of wet solids. The intensive heat/mass exchange of the fluidized bed product makes this method particularly effective and time-saving. The technology is also suitable for post-drying of spray granulated or extruded products with very low residual moisture.

Fluidized bed dryer machine can be used in the entire powder processing industry. In the pharmaceutical industry, this innovative method has replaced the time-consuming tray drying long ago: The drying process with fluidized bed drying reduces the drying time in the drying oven by approximately twenty times. In addition, fluidized bed drying provides controlled and uniform drying conditions compared to the uneven drying in trays.

No matter whether the product was produced in the fluidized bed or a high-shear mixer, whether in batch or continuously: With fluidized bed drying, it must be ensured that drying always takes place in a thermodynamic equilibrium. The inlet air temperature must be selected such that only so much moisture evaporates from the surface of the granulate as is transported through the capillaries from the interior of the granulate to the surface. If the inlet air temperature is too high, a surface crust will most likely form which will hamper or even prevent the moisture being transported from deeper layers to the outside. This will delay the entire drying process rather than accelerate it.

Fluidized Bed Dryer Description

A fluid bed dryer is a one-stop drying machine which includes air handling units, stainless steel main tower (base part, product container, expansion chamber, and fluid bed dryer filter chamber), and exhaust air system.

The main air heating system of vertical fluid bed dryer supplies the drying chamber with the designed amount of air. The air rate is calculated with Hywell machinery’s process calculation program. The program is based on the actual ambient conditions at the physical place where the dryer will be installed.

The main air system of vibratory fluid bed dryer consists of air filters, pre-heating systems, air heater, supply fan and from time to time dehumidification system(option). The main air system is constructed according to the actual requirements of the product and the ambient conditions.

A bag filter (option) can be a standalone solution as this technology is able to remove the required powder fines before outlet to the atmosphere. The fines are collected in a fines return system, thereby the powder loss is reduced to a minimum. The fines can be re-entered to the top of the drying chamber, to achieve agglomeration of the powder or they can be sent to the internal or external fluid bed. Again, the required powder specifications will decide the design of the fines system.

Powder sifter (Option): The final step of the drying system is the powder sifter. The powder sifter will separate the large powder particles from the powder, size is determined for the separation. The off size is bagged off and the powder can be either directly packed into big bags or conveyed to a silo system for other packing systems.

How do the Vertical fluid drier works

A vertical fluid bed system is a machine in which a flow of “wet” powder, granular or flakes material is conveyed over a perforated bed. Hot drying air is blown through the holes of a perforated plate. The wet solids are lifted from the bottom and causes the solids to behave as a fluid. The air velocity is adjusted to keep the moving layer of material fluidized.
