Description of 2.5T Vibrating Fluid Bed Dryers for Salt

1. General description of salt dryer

Hywell design advanced vibration fluid bed dryer for salt drying applications (sea salt, rock salt, vacuum salt /brines,sodium chloride, sodium sulfate) for a large range of capacities. The vibration fluid bed dryer is manufactured in corrosion-resistant AISI-316 and other grades.

The fluidized bed salt dryer consists of one drying section followed by one cooling section and has a total dimension of 5000 mm in length x 650 mm in width. The upper and lower chambers of the salt dryer are separated by a fluidized bed plate with the product located on the upper surface.

Sodium chloride is fed through an annular chute to the inlet port of the vibration fluid bed dryer. The salt drier chute has a rectangular cross-section and slope, which ensures the distribution of the product along the entire width of the fluidized bed as it arrives.

The combined action of the hot air for the fluidized bed rising from the bottom chamber and the vibration of the dryer move the product along the 3.5 m long drying bed and then into the 2.0 m cooling section. Sodium chloride is dried and cooled at the same time.

The dried and cooled product leaves the dryer and is discharged through a chute (discharge chute) into the consumer's loading device. The adjustable measuring descent during unloading controls the product layer thickness and, accordingly, the holding time.

A fixed-speed heating air fan of the salt drying machine delivers filtered air to the electric heater for subsequent hot air to the drying section. The airflow is controlled by a manual air valve that allows hot air to flow to the bottom under the fluidized bed plate.

A fixed-speed cooling air fan supplies filtered air to the cooling section. The airflow is controlled by an air valve that allows cold outside air to flow to the bottom under the fluidized bed plate.

At extremely low intake air temperatures, the motorized air valve allows warm used air to flow back into the cooling air stream to increase the temperature of the cooling air.

The air used in the salt dryer, including moisture, is directed through a pipe from the lower chamber, and then passes through a bag filter to collect small contaminants. The fines are returned to the chute through the butterfly valve to recover the full amount of dried sodium chloride.

A fixed-speed exhaust fan is located downstream of the bag filter, it removes the exhaust air into the consumer's exhaust air duct for the final release into the atmosphere. The air outlet valve regulates the flow of the extracted air.

2.The sending air fan to the salt vibration fluid bed dryer

The scope of delivery includes a 4 kW dynamically balanced centrifugal fan with a backward curved impeller made of epoxy-coated carbon steel on a foundation.

The fan draws out filtered outside air at temperatures from (-) 10 to +30C and delivers it through an electric heater to the lower chamber of the NaCl dryer. A manual air valve allows the flow to be throttled for optimum fluidized bed performance.

3.Salt fluid bed dryer size

The salt dryer use our the Vibration Fluidized bed dryer, It consists of a drying section 3.5 m long x 0.65 m wide and a cooling section 2.5 m long x 0.65 m wide, including the following main components:

4. Lower pressure chamber of the salt drying machine:

•      made of 304 stainless steel, the structure consists of bent and welded sheets.

Key Features to Consider

When selecting a vibrating fluid bed dryer, several key features should be taken into consideration:

  1. Vibrating bed design

The design of the vibrating bed should promote optimal fluidization and prevent the formation of dead zones. Look for a design that allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.

  2. Heating system options

Different heating systems, such as electric, steam, or gas, can be used in vibrating fluid bed dryers. Consider the availability of energy sources, cost-effectiveness, and the specific heating requirements of the materials being dried.

  3. Airflow control

Look for dryers that offer precise control over airflow rates and distribution. This ensures uniform drying and allows for adjustments based on the specific drying requirements of different materials.

  4. Material handling capabilities

Consider the ease of loading and unloading materials into the dryer. Look for features such as adjustable feed rates, discharge systems, and options for integrating the dryer into existing production lines.

Maintenance and Operational Considerations

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of a salt vibrating fluid bed dryer, proper maintenance and operational practices are crucial. Here are some considerations:

  1. Cleaning and maintenance procedures

Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for regular cleaning and maintenance of the dryer. This includes cleaning the perforated bed, checking vibration mechanisms, and inspecting air distribution systems.

  2. Safety precautions

Adhere to safety protocols when operating the dryer. Ensure proper grounding, follow electrical safety guidelines, and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Regularly inspect safety features and address any potential hazards promptly.

  3. Operational tips for optimal performance

Optimize the drying process by adjusting parameters such as vibration intensity, airflow rates, and temperature. Regularly monitor and control these parameters to achieve the desired drying results.
